Photographic Atlas of the City of São Paulo and Surrounding Areas
This book is the result of an extensive photographic mapping of the metropolitan region of São Paulo, carried out by Tuca Vieira. The work consists of 203 large-format photographs, one for each page of the city's Street Guide. Over two and a half years, the photographer covered more than 3,000 kilometers in 19 municipalities, covering an area of 1,900 km².
Exhibited in 2018 at Casa da Imagem and recognized by the APCA Architecture Award, the work is now presented to the public in book format, presenting, in full, the ambitious study on the metropolis, accompanied by reflections on the city, photography and the urban experience.

The work, a gigantograph, shows the rear façade of the Copan Building, as well as details selected and super-enlarged by the artist. The work is the result of merging 105 different digital photographs into an image measuring more than 5 meters. In it you can see details invisible to the naked eye, such as residents at work and personal objects.
The name of the exhibition is a reference to the luminous location map at the entrance to the building designed in the 1950s by architect Oscar Niemeyer. The exhibition proposes a reflection on contemporary themes such as the excess of images, voyeurism, mapping and digital technology
